The GracedLife Leadership Centre is a nonprofit that holds leadership and entrepreneurship together. We exist so that both are within reach of every young African.

In March 2018 we held our first meeting at the University of Ghana, Legon. Since 2022 we have also trained entrepreneurs through LIFT Ghana with UBC’s Sauder School of Business.

Our visionA network of principled, change-driven servant leaders pioneering Africa’s development and transformation.
Our missionTo raise leaders, reorient mindsets, inspire change, and develop a culture of selflessness and integrity among young Africans.

The Challenge

Africa’s fast-growing youth. A resource or a risk?

19

the median age in Africa

28%

of the world’s people under 25 live in Africa1

10–12m

young Africans enter the workforce each year, against about 3 million new formal jobs2

Young people become a resource when they are formed as leaders who build, and a risk when they are left to wait. Leadership makes the difference. That is the gap we exist to close.

Questions we are often asked

Frequently asked questions

What makes TGLC different?

Most programmes end at training. Ours begins there. We hold leadership and entrepreneurship together. Every leader joins an Impact Lab, builds a project with a team and is measured by what they build, with free space, mentors and the chance to win seed awards behind them.

Who do you serve?

Young Africans aged 30 or under who want to lead and to solve a problem in their community. Our core leadership programmes are for adults. Youth Think Next takes a shorter programme into junior and senior high schools.

What does it cost a leader to join?

Nothing. Every place in our Leadership Development Training is a fully funded scholarship, so selection depends on commitment, not money.

How do you choose leaders?

Through an application, a personal essay and interviews. We look for leadership, initiative, commitment, problem-solving and a clear vision of the change the applicant wants to build.

How do you know it works?

We measure what leaders do, not only what they attend. In the Labs we track projects started and milestones reached, leaders’ growth through our LeaderMeter assessments, and where past leaders are now through our Tracer Study.

How are you governed and held accountable?

We are a nonprofit company limited by guarantee, registered in Ghana under the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992). An Executive Council governs our work under a written constitution, and our accounts are audited.

Who do you work with?

No one raises a leader alone. We work with the UBC Sauder School of Business on LIFT Ghana, universities, colleges and schools across Ghana, and mentors, coaches and corporate volunteers. In 2024 we worked with CDKN and SouthSouthNorth on youth climate action.

What happens after the three years?

Leaders who finish join our network as Affiliates. They can stay in the Impact Labs, mentor newer leaders and keep building their projects with the network behind them.

How can my organisation get involved?

Give your staff’s time: employees can mentor a leader or coach an Impact Lab. Partner on a programme: co-run a training, a bootcamp or a Youth Think Next day in a school. Open doors: host leaders for site visits and internships, or bring your expertise to a Lab. Kindly start the conversation at gracedlifepartners.org.
