It is into this gap that UBC LIFT 8.0 steps.
This month, The GracedLife Leadership Center (TGLC), in partnership with UBC Sauder School of Business, officially commenced the eighth cohort of the LIFT program, reaffirming a shared commitment to building entrepreneurs who are not only creative, but competent; not only driven, but disciplined.
An Intentional Investment in People, Not Just Ideas
At the heart of UBC LIFT 8.0 is a bold and deliberate investment in people. Through this cohort, 20 entrepreneurs have been awarded scholarships, jointly supported by TGLC and UBC Sauder School of Business. These scholarships represent more than access to training. They represent belief in potential, confidence in process, and a conviction that when entrepreneurs are properly equipped, entire ecosystems benefit.
The LIFT program recognizes a simple truth: ideas are common, but well-trained entrepreneurs are rare. By prioritizing structured learning and long-term thinking, the program ensures that participants are prepared not only to start businesses, but to sustain and scale them responsibly.
Learning That Is Practical, Demanding, and Grounded
LIFT is designed as a hands-on, experience-driven program. From the very first class, participants are challenged to interrogate their assumptions, refine their models, and engage with the realities of building and managing a business.
A defining strength of the program is the presence of an invited business owner at every session. These practitioners bring the classroom to life by sharing real experiences from the field including the mistakes made, lessons learned, and decisions that shaped their journeys. This exposure ensures that learning is not abstract, but practical and applicable.
Participants are not taught to chase trends. They are trained to build systems, make informed decisions, and lead with integrity.
Program Structure and Timeline
UBC LIFT 8.0 officially began on 23rd January and will run until 13th March. Over this period, participants will engage in carefully structured sessions that combine instruction, discussion, case analysis, and peer learning.
Each session is designed to build progressively, equipping entrepreneurs with the tools and frameworks needed to strengthen their businesses at every stage. The program’s structure reflects a deep understanding that meaningful growth takes time, consistency, and intentional effort.
